One-hander or Two?

People always ask, “which is better, a one-hander or two-hander?”  This year at Wimbledon there were three women in the quarters with one-handers, i.e. Henin-Hardenne, Mauresmo and Bremond, and only one player on the men’s side, i.e. Federer.  However, many two handers have developed very effective one-handed slices and volleys, e.g. Andy Murray and Lindsay Davenport.  Personally, I think they both have advantages and disadvantages and the choice depends on how strong you are when you start playing and which feels natural.  The two-hander gives you more strength and the ability to whip sharp angles at times while the one-hander gives you more natural variety and an extended reach.  I hope the one-hander makes even more inroads because they’re just better-looking when they’re hit really well and we all know looks are everything…
