Sunday was Charity Day at the 2007 Australian Open.
For every ticket stub deposited in the box as fans left the grounds, A$1 was donated to the
Kids Tennis Foundation.
The Foundation seeks to build self-esteem and self-confidence in children by striving to provide every child in every disadvantaged primary school in Australia with the opportunity to play tennis.
The ticket stub donation effort was so simple and so worthwhile - rip off the edge of your ticket, drop it in the box and thereby make a donation.
Every tournament should have a similar program.
American Express has also continued its Aces for Charity Program at the Australian Open and is donating A$100 for every ace served in Rod Laver Arena.
