Final Snapshot
Kim Clijsters said recently that she is taking more photos at each tournament she plays this year since it will be her last visit. Ironically, Kim advanced to the Australian Open semis by defeating Martina Hingis who returned to the game a year ago after initially retiring around the same age as Clijsters is now. As players hang up their rackets and move on in life, what is it we remember most about them? Reputations can be made by a single action or over a period of time. Although we often remember the most recent events, it's usually the very high moments, as well as the lowest lows that leave the most lasting impression. Clijsters' final months on tour have only just begun, but her place is already reserved in tennis history. Nonetheless, it's fun to hope that maybe her greatest moments in tennis and in life have yet to occur...
