Spirit Lives On...

The spirited "nationalists" were out in full force supporting "their players" and it made the Australian Open feel like itself again... Well, almost... because there were several fans ejected yet again on Wednesday. For the Novak Djokovic match, the Serbian contingent was out in full force, but only cheering between points for their man. Mario Ancic had more than a full soccer team decked out in Croatian colors and flags for his match and they even had a bit of fun occasionally cheering the name of Ancis's Argentine opponent, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. For Marat Safin's match, there were two groups of Israeli fans on opposite sides of Vodafone Arena cheering on their underdog, Dudi Sela, but the rest of the large crowd seemed to be pulling for Safin. It was like coming home again...
