Looks Can Be Deceiving...

rafabackhand

Tennis fans look at Rafael Nadal and instantly notice his bulging muscles in addition to admiring his exciting brand of tennis.  Roger Federer trains very hard and looks quite fit, but his physique is definitely not as muscular as Rafa’s.  Surprisingly, Nadal’s body seems to be slightly more prone to injury compared to Federer so far in their careers.  Over the past couple years, Nadal has missed

the French Open with a foot injury, the ATP Masters Cup with a foot/ankle injury and the 2006 Australian Open because of the same foot/ankle injury.  In 2007, Nadal sustained a thigh muscle strain in one of the warm-up events for the Australian Open and then sustained a leg muscle strain during his loss to Fernando Gonzalez which limited his mobility.  Roger Federer has missed a couple tournaments due to injuries, but he has not missed any major tournaments because of injury during his impressive run of titles over the past few years.
