Agassi's Stories

Andre Agassi’s memoirs were recently sold to the publisher Knopf for an undisclosed sum said to be greater than $5 million – a price typically paid for the memoirs of past presidents! Athletes are usually paid around $3 million. The peaks and valleys of Agassi’s life should make for stimulating reading for tennis fans, sports fans and the general public. What’s most remarkable about Agassi is not just his exploits on the tennis court, but even more impressive is how he has
transformed himself into a humanitarian through his foundation and school in Las Vegas. Agassi’s global superstar status provides him with an opportunity like few others such as Arthur Ashe to have an international impact. At age 36, Agassi is only just beginning the post-tennis player chapter of his life. Therefore, it’s surprising in a way that he’s already writing his memoirs. One hopes that some of his best stories are still yet to be written…
