Maria Sharapova graced the cover of Teen Vogue in February and now she is featured in a multi-page fashion spread in the April issue of Vogue. Sharapova looks quite the model in the various designer outfits. Past top tennis stars have graced magazines from time to time, but Sharapova's popularity in the fashion world is clearly taking her down a different runway. This additional publicity can only help to boost both Sharapova's popularity, as well as the sport of tennis. In this

increasingly competitive entertainment scene, tennis needs to capitalize on this free PR by retaining any new tennis fans that are attracted to the sport through the fashion media. For example, more "learn the game" promotions targeted at potential new tennis players should be featured on TV tennis telecasts, as well as on-site at pro tournaments
