Perfect Script

Roger Federer

You couldn’t write a better script leading in to the French Open than for Roger Federer to bounce back and beat Rafael Nadal on clay a week before the second Grand Slam of the year!  Federer, who recently decided to part ways with his part-time coach, Tony Roche, will arrive at Roland Garros with a new dose of confidence after a rather spotty patch during the past couple months.  For Nadal, whose 81-match winning streak on

clay ended with the loss to Federer on Sunday, it is probably not so terrible to actually lose a match going into the French Open since he’s been so hot of late, i.e. better to lose before than during Roland Garros.  In a week’s time, the matches that matter even more to both players really begin… can’t wait!
