Who's on First?

The spring has been a strange time on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour making predictions for Roland Garros and Wimbledon even more challenging this year. Serena Williams has served notice again this year that she can win anything at any time, but she's struggled with injuries since winning the Australian Open. Justine Henin has bounced back very well from the personal pain of her divorce at the beginning of the year. Amelie
Mauresmo, who seems to be a player that needs competition to find her rhythm and confidence had a tough start to the year and is shy of match play following her appendectomy surgery in late March. Venus Williams is still capable of winning everything, but she hasn't beaten a top 20 player in a while and one never knows when her fragile body will be hobbled again. Maria Sharapova has been nursing a sore shoulder and working on her serve while Kim Clijsters has hung up her rackets. There are many talented challengers including former U.S. Open Champion, Svetlana Kuznetsova who recently beat Justine Henin on clay and Ana Ivanovic who won the title in Berlin, that are eager for the title at Roland Garros... stay tuned!
