You can tell that you are in France by looking at the attire of the linespeople, umpires and even ushers and security guards at the French Open.  Lacoste, a sponsor of the tournament outfits the linespeople and umpires in stylish pants, polos, sweaters and windbreakers.  In the past, linespeople have worn a different color "chemise" each day, but given the rain and cold weather for most of the first week, we have mostly seen the khaki

windbreakers and sweaters!  Let's hope the sun shines a lot during the second half of the tournament.  The ushers and security guards are decked out in blazers and ties which is quite a different look from the yellow polo shirts that their counterparts in Melbourne and New York have worn in the past.  The Brits at Wimbledon aim for stylish, albeit traditional attire, but it lacks that certain French "je ne sais quoi" aka "I don't know what"...
