"Wiimbledon" Tournament... Brooklyn

You've heard of Wimbledon... and you've probably also heard about "Wii," the game from Nintendo. Well, a couple of guys in Brooklyn, New York, decided to organize a local Wiimbledon "tennis tournament"... only this one was played on Wii and not grass! Although I have yet to use Wii, I'm told that the tennis game does feel like you are playing tennis and is quite fun. In fact, some parents are actually using Wii to help their kids
develop their hand-eye coordination. The "Wiimbledon" tournament took place on June 23rd, prior to the start of the real tournament on the lawns of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon. What a great application of new technology, as well as an innovative way of introducing more people to the sport of tennis... hopefully a few of them will venture out into the sunshine from time to time this summer and play some tennis on a real court !
