Woman in the Hot Seat

Sandra de Jenken

Frenchwoman, Sandra de Jenken, made history at the 2007 Australian Open when she was the first female chair umpire for the men's finals.  Last Sunday, de Jenken made history again when she was the first woman to officiate the men’s final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at her home country's Grand Slam aka the French Open.  Like lines people and ball people, umpires have done a good job if you never notice them...  Sandra

de Jenken has made an impression on the tennis world albeit in a quiet way.  Now (when) will de Jenken complete her Grand Slam?!  Maybe The Championships, Wimbledon...
