Serena Williams is the only other tennis player on the list in the 69th spot with earnings of $14 million including endorsements with Nike, Wilson, McDonald's and Estee Lauder. The "Celebrity 100" list is compiled by factoring in income, Web rank, press rank and TV rank, i.e. the number of mentions, clips, etc. It is interesting to note that the top-listed female golfer on the list, Michelle Wie, had higher income than Serena Williams, i.e. $19 million, but was still ranked behind Serena on the list. Fellow golfer, Annika Sorenstam, was listed 83rd with income of $10 million. Given the global popularity of tennis, it is surprising that so few tennis players have made this Forbes list.
