Many have wondered how many titles Federer might have won at Roland Garros the past couple years if Nadal hadn't been around. However,
Rafael Nadal has also had a tough time the past couple years. Nadal has been ranked Number Two in the world for a record number of weeks, i.e. over 100. Guillermo Vilas was also ranked second for a long time many years ago, but Vilas only occupied the second spot for 67 weeks. Imagine how long Nadal could have been Number One by now without Federer in the picture. Would Nadal have already captured Wimbledon? In the end, Federer and Nadal have given each other fits for a long time already, albeit in different ways...
