Entertaining Arthur Ashe Kids' Day

On Saturday prior to the start of the 2007 U.S. Open, the annual charity day, Arthur Ashe Kids' Day, took place both inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, as well as throughout the packed grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. This event was about making tennis as entertaining as possible. Around the grounds, there were free interactive tennis activities and clinics for little kids, as well as live bands performing. Inside
Arthur Ashe Stadium, top tennis stars such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, Martina Hingis and Daniela Hantuchova played some brief exhibitions in between live concert performances by popular bands. Although the music maybe drew as many kids as the tennis events, it is still a great way to attract kids to the sport of tennis, honor the legacy of Arthur Ashe and raise money for charities that he founded.
