Travellin Life of a Pro Tennis Player

Justine Henin

Justine Henin is returning to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in Toronto this week following her extended post-Wimbledon summer break.  Unfortunately, even if you are the Number One ranked tennis player in the world and a world-class, traveling, multi-millionaire… the airlines can still lose your luggage!  Henin experienced that frustration this week and spent a day without her rackets, sneakers, clothes, etc.  As a result, she missed a

couple practices which was definitely not the ideal way to return to the Tour following a long break.  Sometimes, one forgets that pro tennis players live their lives out of a suitcase, staying in a different hotel in a different city almost every week.  They carry their lives with them as much as possible, but sometimes they can’t control every aspect, as Henin’s lost luggage experience illustrated this week.  It’s a reminder of the challenges facing frequent travelers, as well as the dilemma of packing for a trip.  In the past, pro players usually carried their rackets on the plane and many wore sneakers just to be prepared in case of the possibility that there was a problem with their luggage.  However, many airlines no longer allow tennis rackets in carry-on baggage and so Justine Henin had an extra day of rest prior to starting back on the tournament trail…

Comments

hi, im a great fan of tennis and i love playing it. To cut it short, once i start i find the energy to play all day long, and never get bored of it. If there's anyone that can fill me in on how it would work out as a proffession, I'd deeply appreciate it.Adem Gun (15)
