Federer the "Metrosexual"...

Roger Federer has made yet another fashion statement at the 2007 U.S. Open with his all-black "tuxedo-style" tennis outfit. In addition, rumor has it that his latest New York City haircut cost a few hundred dollars! Federer is not the first top male tennis player to be rather fashionable. Bjorn Borg had many imitating his trademark headband. Andre Agassi added neon colors and denim Nike tennis shorts to the traditional white
tennis attire. However, Federer's white blazer at Wimbledon and stylish Nike tennis bags coupled with his special "all-black" U.S. Open "evening attire" have placed Federer is a different league. Federer has befriended Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, who has attended his matches and threw a party for him in New York City before the U.S. Open. Federer also attended the Bryant Park fashion shows last year after the U.S. Open. Past Number One players such as Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, Jimmy Connors wore some stylish tennis outfits at times, but they probably never had a photo spread in Men's Vogue as Federer has. Federer has taken his tennis to new heights the past few years and added style to the game as well...
