Nervous Times

Every pro tennis player gets nervous before and during matches, especially major matches.  Sometimes, nerves make a player perform poorly, other times they feel more fatigued and occasionally players cramp as a result of the tension and fatigue.  The challenge is not to try "to avoid getting nervous", but rather to find ways to deal with the nervous feelings.  Sometimes players consult sports psychologists and other times players are

able to teach themselves tricks through experience of ways to calm themselves down during the tense moments in a big match.  Some believe that the top pros get less nervous than newcomers, but it is often the opposite because more experienced players realize what is at stake.  As they say, “ignorance is bliss”…
