  • One of the women's semifinalists will wear a dress
    • Well… Anna Chakvetadze wore a bright red dress and Justine Henin’s skirt and top combo really looked like a dress!
  • The defending champions will reach at least the semis
    • Maria Sharapova had a tough time as defending champion, but Roger Federer made it all the way to the title… again!
  • Half of the top eight seeds will reach the quarters
    • Four of the top eight men made it to the quarters and despite a rash of upsets on the women’s lower half, five of the top eight women reached the quarters…

  • The 2007 U.S. Open Tennis Women’s Champion will not be an American
  • The 2007 U.S. Open Tennis Men's Champion will play three five-set matches in order to win the title
