Polish Tennis Prowess

For a country of only supposedly 2500 tennis players, Poland has already produced a few very talented ones. A couple decades ago, Wojtek Fibak was a top player on the ATP Tour. The current generation of Polish players seems to be led by one family, albeit clearly a very talented family. Polish tennis-playing sisters, Agnieszka and Urszula Radwanska, have already made their mark on the international junior circuits. Older sister, Agnieszka
won the 2005 Junior Wimbledon title and 2006 Junior title at Roland Garros. This year, Urszula won the Junior Wimbledon title and reached the finals in the Junior U.S. Open tournament losing a third set tie-breaker. On the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, Agnieszka has already reached a ranking of 30. The Maleeva family, i.e. sisters Manuela, Katerina and Maggie, dominated Bulgarian tennis a decade or two ago while also making a strong impression on the WTA Tour since each was ranked in the top 10. The Radwanskas will need to work very hard to match that success.
