(Stadium) Court Choices
The Aussies were fortunate to have two juniors reach the finals of the Australian Open Junior Championships. Jessica Moore lost in the Junior Girls finals while fifteen year old Bernard Tomic captured the 2008 Australian Open Junior Boys Championship! The court scheduling mirrored the gender of the championships, i.e. the Girls Championship was played on the Margaret Court Arena, one of the smaller secondary show courts, while
the Boys Championship was played in Rod Laver Arena following the Women’s Championships and the Men’s Doubles Championships. Clearly, it’s more prestigious to be playing in the main stadium, i.e. Rod Laver Arena, and hopefully both junior tournament finals will be played there in the future...
