The defending champions, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, will not win the 2008 Australian Open titles
2 of the 2007 men's quarterfinalists will reach the 2008 semis
Two lefthanders will reach the quarters
A Chinese player will reach the quarters
No Australian player will reach the quarters in singles
The extreme heat rule will be used two times during the tournament
A woman from Russia and a man from Spain will reach the semis
The roof will never be closed because of rain during the tournament
The women’s winner will wear a dress
The men’s winner will have a two-handed backhand
