Mauresmo's March.....

A year ago, Amelie Mauresmo's tournament season (and possibly her career) changed when she suddenly had appendicitis and subsequently surgery to repair the problem. Without sufficient rehab and tournament play, Mauresmo competed at the 2007 French Open and then Wimbledon. Amelie was upset early at both Grand Slams and then took an extended break during the summer to recover and reevaluate her career. March, 2008, marks
another important phase in Mauresmo's career because she has struggled since playing again at a couple tournaments last fall and then beginning 2008 at the Australian Open. The mini-slams in Indian Wells and Key Biscayne and then the French Open and Wimbledon will be important tournaments to gauge her play and realistically her future career. Hopefully, Amelie can fight through this rough patch as others have done in the past. Ultimately, it is clearly Mauresmo’s decision when she will choose to walk away… one hopes at a time when she will have no regrets. Stay tuned...
