Wimbledon Centre Court: Toughest Ticket in Tennis

Centre Court Wimbledon

Centre Court tickets to Wimbledon are the hardest ticket to obtain in all of tennis.  However, they are nearly impossible to secure when two superstars such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are playing in the 2008 Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles Championship match.  One could pay an exorbitant price through a ticket broker, but that’s usually out of the price range of average tennis fans.  Centre Court tickets are so

limited that the only way that the general public can obtain seats is to either win the annual Wimbledon ticket lottery, sleep overnight in the daily queue or possibly find some online at the last minute!  The rest of the seats are already spoken for by debenture holders (i.e. those who paid dearly for the right to use Centre Court seats year after year), etc.  Therefore, it requires a bit of luck and/or time, unless you are a debenture holder, to obtain a Centre Court ticket and most likely only serious tennis fans would make the effort.  Perhaps this explains the respectful and knowledgeable tennis fans in the Centre Court seats.  As you watch the Wimbledon finals, recognize what a privilege it is to sit around the hallowed grass of Centre Court.
