Rafael Nadal Shirtless in New York

Rafael Nadal has finally ascended to the Number One ranking in men's tennis and now he's also entered the high fashion pages in New York City. Rafa was featured on the back cover of the recent New York Magazine special fashion issue. For years, Nadal has carved out his niche in tennis fashion circles with his distinctive "clam-digger" shorts, bandana and sleeveless shirts highlighting his bulging biceps. Winning Wimbledon, the Olympic Gold Medal and reaching Number One has given Nadal much more visibility around the
world. Now, as Nadal's tennis attire is set to chart new ground with his next line of Nike outfits, Rafa has also placed himself in fashion celebrity circles, albeit very different ones from the more classicly-attired, former Number One and cardigan, trouser-wearing, Roger Federer. Fortunately for Nadal and Federer, the attention given to their on-court attire only adds to their global appeal and generates additional publicity for the sport of tennis.
