Serena Williams is in The Money

A week ago, twenty-seven year old, Serena Williams, added a fourth Australian Open Singles title and third Doubles title with sister Venus to her trophy cabinet. With the victories, Serena raised her career on-court prize money earnings to over $23.5 million and passed Lindsay Davenport and golfer, Annika Sorenstam, to become the highest paid female athlete in history. WTA Tour has increased prize money to over $86 million at over 50 tournaments around the globe. Serena Williams has won thirty-three singles titles, ten of them Grand Slams, as well as thirteen doubles titles, eight of them Grand Slams, during her career… and she’s not done yet! Serena has reached three consecutive Grand Slam finals, i.e. 2008 Wimbledon, 2008 U.S. Open and 2009 Australian Open, and has now won two in row. Is another “Serena Slam” possible?
