Tenniseum at Roland Garros

Wimbledon has a museum on the grounds, but the Tenniseum at Roland Garros, which is located by the Mousquetaires gate, is the first multimedia tennis museum. It features a permanent exhibition, a multimedia section where visitors can watch footage of past matches from the tournament, two temporary theme-based exhibition areas and a multimedia library. During the 2009 French Open, there are four special exhibitions
which are free for all ticket holders during the tournament. “Bubbles and balls - tennis in comics" reviews all of the various appearances that tennis has made in what is known as the ninth art. “Venus by Koto Bolofo" includes photos of Venus Williams by the famous fashion photographer Koto Bolofo. "Konrad Klapech" features work by the designer of the official 2009 French Open poster. The fourth special exhibition features the models produced by the four teams which competed to design the extension to Roland Garros, which will go as far as the Georges Hébert municipal stadium at the Porte d´Auteuil. Given the audience at the Grand Slams, the periodic bad weather and the desire to take a break from watching tennis matches, the Tenniseum sounds like a terrific spot to pass a spare hour.
