Andy Murray in "Retro" Fred Perry...

It's no longer only famous female tennis players who get to unveil their special fashionable outfits for major tennis tournaments these days. In honor of the 100th birthday of Fred Perry, the last British man to win Wimbledon, Fred Perry “the clothing brand” has introduced a special “retro collection” for Andy Murray, the “great British hope” these days, to wear at The Championships, Wimbledon this year. As required by The All England Lawn
Tennis and Croquet Club, Murray’s all-white ensemble, i.e. shorts, shirt, vest, cable v-neck sweater, features Murray’s initials,”AM”, under the traditional Fred Perry crossed laurel branches logo. The retro collection is apparently inspired by clothes that Fred Perry designed for people such as John F. Kennedy and Billie Jean King. Rafael Nadal may have sported a pink shirt at the recent French Open, but it is refreshing to see traditional “tennis whites” being worn at Wimbledon. Now wouldn’t it be something if Andy Murray comes through and captures his first Grand Slam title at The Championships, Wimbledon this year.
