Earrings As Fashion Statement by Tennis Players

Serean Williams earrings

Venus and Serena Williams have long adorned themselves with fashionable, large, dangling earrings which were almost never seen on female tennis players in the past whose on-court jewelry was usually focused on simply a necklace and sometimes a bracelet.  Maria Sharapova has also worn simple, but long dangling earrings for many years and now

has taken that a step further through her relationship with Tiffany.  Sharapova has also expressed her fashion sense and style through both her Nike tennis outfits, as well as her role as a handbag and shoe designer as part of her endorsement deal with Cole Haan.  Meanwhile, Venus Williams designs her own line of tennis clothing, EleVen and Serena designs handbags, dresses, as well as a line of jewelery called the Serena Signature Collection.

At all of the 2010 Grand Slam tennis tournaments, i.e. Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open, Sharapova will wear Tiffany earrings which complement her Nike tennis attire.  In Melbourne, Sharapova wore drops of polished yellow quartz in 18 karat yellow gold designed by Paloma Picasso.  Given the attention that Sharapova generates wherever she plays and with whatever she wears, her earrings are certain to attract the eyes of both tennis fans and fashionistas following the Grand Slam tournaments which is great for both Sharapova and women’s tennis in general.  Bring ‘em on…
