Unique Aspects of the Australian Open

Some good things and a few surprises at the 2010 Austraiian Open...
o There are "information people” wandering the grounds to help answer questions about anything from where is the nearest first aid station to why was Laura Robson's Junior Girls doubles match not on court as scheduled?!
o For those hot Aussie summer days, there are drinking fountains, an ice cold tent sponsored by ANZ bank and free ice cube massages by Evian
o Every seat in Rod Laver Arena provides an excellent view of the action!
o They don't accept credit cards at the public food concessions (!)
o You can stand right next to the practice courts and watch the top pros warm-up
o There is a food stand selling traditional Australian fruits and treats, nice change from stadium fast food!
o There is often complete silence in Rod Laver Arena during many matches... amazing for an outdoor arena...
o Bar code scanners, not people (!), check/take your ticket at the main entrance
o They have a betting sponsor and booth to place bets on-site...
o The host broadcaster, Channel 7, skipped out on the final set of the Andy Roddick-Marin Cilic men's quarterfinal to go to the news... they’d also cut away mid match from Serena Williams’ round of 16 match against Australian, Samantha Stosur, a day earlier…
o There is a free tram to take Australian Open ticket holders from the city centre to Melbourne Park
