Kim Clijsters' Barbie Doll

There have been other tennis player-related dolls, but Kim Clijsters appears to be the first one with a Barbie doll designed in her likeness. In fact, Kim's almost two year old daughter, Jada, will also have a mini-Barbie designed in her likeness, i.e. a “Jada Barbie”… wow!
Jada has already been seen at tennis tournaments worldwide in the arms of her father, Brian Lynch, with her nanny and also with her mom, on the court inside Arthur Ashe stadium after Kim won the 2009 U.S. Open.
Kim seems intent on providing Jada with as normal a childhood as possible while also bringing her along to the tennis tournaments and limiting the travel and number of tournaments that she plays. Nonetheless, it’s a tricky line to walk in terms of shielding children from the glare of the public spotlight while also affording them the exciting benefits of being the child of a famous athlete. Given how quickly children grow, the “likeness” of Jada will quickly cease to resemble her while Kim’s Barbie will be collected and treasured for years to come by tennis fans across the globe.
