Tennis Stars in Business Week Power 100

There are several "power lists" that include professional athletes and the top tennis stars are now adding their names to lists such as the Business Week Power 100 . This particular list, which now only focuses on athletes, reflects an athlete's achievements on the field of
play over two years and the more popular the sport, the more weight given to an athlete's results. "Off-court" variables that were factored into the rankings included: total endorsement income, public opinion polls indicating an athlete's awareness, trustworthiness, appeal and influence.

Not surprisingly since the rankings were done through 2009, Tiger Woods is at the top of the list with $92 million in endorsement income as of November, 2009. Sports stars LeBron James, Phil Mickelson, Albert Pujols, and Peyton Manning round out the top five. There are 22 NBA players on the list and 21 NFL stars, but 34 of the Power 100 compete in individual sports. Six tennis players have made the Power 100: Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray.
