Developing Tennis Superstars of Tomorrow...

One at a time… from a select group of top juniors aged 10-12 from all over the world. As part of a global tennis program sponsored by Longines, the official timekeeper of the French Open, there will be a small tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center
featuring eight girls from the USTA Eastern tennis section The juniors had to apply for the event by writing essays about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others. Steffi Graf was part of a panel which selected the girls who would play in the tournament. These juniors will compete to earn a free trip to Roland Garros to play in an international tournament on June 3-4 against top juniors Poland, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan. There will also be junior boys from Australia, China, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Japan and Mexico. The juniors will be paired up and play mixed-doubles matches. The juniors will receive coaching from Longines ambassadors and Tour players, Agnieszka Radwanska and Tsung-Hua Yang, as well as senior Tour player, Mansour Bahrami. The winners of this special event in Paris will have the chance to play against former French Open Champions, Mary Pierce and Gustavo Kuerten before the Ladies Final.
The top juniors will also receive support for their sports equipment from Longines until they turn 16. Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf are the global brand ambassadors for Longines, which will donate $100,000 to the Agassi Foundation for Education and Children for Tomorrow, after this unique junior tournament is completed at Roland Garros.
