2010 French Open: What's At Stake for the Top 8 Women's Seeds?

The results of the second Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year at the 2010 French Open matter in different ways for each of the top eight women. So what’s at stake for each of the players?
Serena Williams - Given her limited, and not so stellar, play since winning the 2010 Australian Open, expectations may not be high, but the possibility of winning another “Serena Slam” (i.e. four consecutive Slam titles) has been whispered… and you know she wants it!
Venus Williams - She’s won clay court titles, but her play in Paris has been spotty for years so maintaining her Number Two seeding/ranking may be a “tough ask”…
Caroline Wozniacki - Her weak results during the clay court swing would be forgotten if she could produce another strong Slam showing as she did in Flushing Meadows last year… but a tender ankle may complicate her chances...
Jelena Jankovic - She’s had some solid results in non-Slams, but still has yet to win a “big one”… given her Slam experience and the turmoil at the top of women’s tennis this just might be her year?!
Elena Dementieva – She has the experience and Olympic Gold Medal, but a Slam title is still missing from her resume… given her so-so play this year, no one is expecting her to win and not many more years/chances in the future…
Svetlana Kuznetsova – She won a year ago, but defending that title and those points may be very tough given her poor results in 2010… perhaps she can turn around her year with the good vibes in Paris…
Samantha Stosur – She’s continued to rise up the rankings after reaching the semis last year and expectations of another strong result this year could add a bit of pressure…
Agnieszka Radwanska – She’s hovered around the top ten for the past couple years, but the question has been does she have “the (power) game” to progress higher… the red clay in Paris could be the equalizer for her…
