Andrea Jaeger's Little Star is a Big Star

both Wimbledon and the French Open (losing to Martina Navratilova in both), and the semis at the Australian Open and U.S. Open. Jaeger's ranking peaked at Number Two in the world and she collected 8 singles titles, four doubles titles and also won the French Open Mixed Doubles title with Jimmy Arias.
Since retiring relatively young due to a shoulder injury, Jaeger has devoted herself to helping children with cancer first through the establishment of the Silver Lining Foundation in Aspen, Colorado, and more recently with the Little Star Foundation, also based in Colorado. Jaeger, who became an Anglican Dominican nun in 2006, had spent a lot of time during her years on the tennis Tour visiting sick children in hospitals. With her Foundation, Jaeger seeks to offer children battling cancer with a temporary "escape" from the pain and stress of cancer treatments through a variety of fun activities, trips, etc. In recent years, the Foundation's efforts have expanded beyond cancer, but remain focused on children in need. Jaeger's efforts have received a lot of support over the years from the tennis community and its star players, especially John McEnroe. Jaeger's evolution from a tennis player to a humanitarian is inspiring and worthy of our support.
