Juan Martin del Potro Returns... Finally!

The 2009 U.S. Open champion, Juan Martin del Potro from Argentina, will be returning to tournament play in Thailand next week. del Potro has been sidelined with a wrist injury which required surgery. del Potro, who hasn't played since the 2010 Australian Open and
barely at all since winning at Flushing Meadows last year, has a chance to play a few tournaments before the off-season begins in late November.
Clearly, everyone will be curious to see how del Potro is playing, as well as how strong the wrist holds up. Nonetheless, del Potro's focus should simply be on getting “match tough” again without overplaying. It's paramount that del Potro not reinjure the wrist while trying to gain ranking points or appease his sponsors. It’s been a rather long break for a player who was just hitting his stride last year. After winning the 2009 U.S. Open, many predicted del Potro could and would win multiple Grand Slam titles given his versatile game. The next six months will shed a lot of light on what the future holds for the talented Argentine and one hopes that it includes more memorable moments on the biggest stages in professional tennis.
