Colorful, Customizable Tennis Rackets!

Donnay, which became famous thirty years ago when tennis legend, Bjorn Borg, played with its brightly-accented black-painted wood tennis racket, is returning to the scene with another line of brightly-colored tennis rackets. This new racket line, the X-series,
allows tennis players to customize their rackets by changing the butt-cap and adding plastic slides that can be attached to the tip and sides of the racket head. With these adjustments, a player can alter the racket weight and balance. The rackets also come with different string patterns, grips and in ten brightly-colored models!

Nike and adidas and others have offered customizable sneakers for many years. At the same time, the top tennis pros have their rackets individually customized in terms of weight, balance, strings, tension, etc. However, Donnay's "mass-customizable" racket line adds a new wrinkle to the tennis racket shopping experience. They are also offering a global demo program, three rackets at a time, to allow prospective buyers to "play-test" a couple variations. It will be interesting to see if any of the other racket manufacturers follow suit or if this becomes a marketing strategy exclusively for Donnay. Some people will love all the choices and others will prefer to have the choice limited to one brand versus another! It's like dinner menus, some prefer a plethora of choices while others feel overwhelmed!
