2011 Australian Open Tennis: What's At Stake for the Top 8 Women's Seeds?

The results of the first Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year at the 2011 Australian Open matter in different ways for each of the top eight women. So what’s at stake for each of the players?
Caroline Wozniacki – Having lost her Aussie Open prep matches adds even more pressure to the shoulders of the "Number One" who hasn't won a Slam and could lose her top ranking at this tournament.
Vera Zvonareva – Reaching her third consecutive Grand Slam final would be an amazing achievement for the new Number Two.
Kim Clijsters – After a disappointing Aussie Open last year, she will definitely be hoping to play better and claim her first Slam “down under”, especially given the wide open field this year and the chance to move up to Number One.
Venus Williams – Her physical condition, i.e. her knee, is a bit of an unknown right now and she has not played particularly well at the Australian Open, but this will be her best chance to win it.
Samantha Stosur – Talk about pressure… given her strong results in 2010, EVERYONE in Australia will be hoping/expecting her to play well at Melbourne Park, but she didn’t look too sharp in the tune-up events…
Francesca Schiavone – In a sense, it’s all “gravy” after her “career-changing win” at the 2010 French Open, but she clearly wants and expects more from herself at the age of 30!
Jelena Jankovic – She has floated in the lower echelons of the top ten since arriving as the Number One player a few years ago and this is also an excellent chance for her to escape the shadows and win her first Grand Slam title.
Victoria Azarenka – She has the talent to win big matches, but she still has yet to combine her talent with the right temperament and physical conditioning to win seven matches at a Grand Slam… no time like the present!
