Tennis Country 2011 New Year's Predictions

It’s the beginning of the year... time for us to gaze into our bright yellow tennis ball and look ahead...

•   The women’s Number One ranking will change hands in 2011, at least once...

•   Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will win at least two Grand Slam titles

•   Serena Williams will not win a Grand Slam singles title in 2011

•   Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Juan Martin del Potro will win at least one Grand Slam title between them in 2011

•   The U.S. Open finals will be played at their regularly-scheduled times

•   Two former Grand Slam champions will retire

•   Maria Sharapova will win more matches than Serena Williams

•   Electronic foot-fault technology will be tested at a major tournament

•   There will be as many Spanish men as Americans in the year-end top twenty

•   There will be more players over the age of 25 in the year-end top ten than under 25
