Maria Sharapova Switches to HEAD, Wozniacki to Yonex Tennis Rackets

Switching tennis rackets is a major change for most professional tennis players, but switching brands and racket models is even more significant. Maria Sharapova, who played with Prince rackets for the past ten years, recently signed a new multi-million
dollar endorsement deal with HEAD. Given Sharapova’s form the past year or so, perhaps the new racket will actually usher in better results for her in 2011.
Caroline Wozniacki also made a major racket change at the beginning of 2011. Caroline, who had played with Babolat for years, recently signed a deal with Yonex tennis rackets. The blonde-haired Wozniacki is also the face of Stella McCartney for adidas tennis clothing. 2011 Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic, signed a major deal with HEAD tennis rackets a couple years ago as his career was flourishing and then Novak struggled for most of his first year with the new model. Let’s hope that the decision to switch rackets, perhaps motivated by more money, does not negatively impact the results of Sharapova and Wozniacki.
