The "Future" is Almost Here... Raonic, Dimitrov, Tomic and Harrison

Grass tennis courts

Some of the most promising young prospects on the men’s tennis Tour have all been in action at Wimbledon, i.e. Milos Raonic, Grigor Dimitrov, Bernard Tomic and Ryan Harrison.  Tennis pundits will debate which of these men has more potential to possibly win major

titles or become Number One.  However, most would agree that all four players have the talent to reach the top twenty or top ten in the rankings.  Ironically, Raonic was the last to join “the pack” with his strong play since reaching the round of 16 at the 2011 Australian Open, but many believe he has the greatest potential given his height and huge serve.

There are so many variables at play between potential and achieving success as we’ve seen with the talented Frenchman of the current generation, i.e. Richard Gasquet, Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.  Injuries can play a role, as well as mental strength and temperament, an area where American, Ryan Harrison, needs to improve.  What’s impressive about Raonic, Dimitrov, Tomic and Harrison is that their games seem to translate well on all surfaces.  Similar to the trend at the top of men’s tennis right now where Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray are threats to win all four Grand Slams, the “future” of men’s tennis looks every exciting because these four talented men could shine at every Slam.
