• Either Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer will reach the quarters, but not both
o Both Nadal and Federer reached the quarters, but only Nadal advanced (to the final)
• Either Serena Williams or Venus Williams will reach the quarters, but not both
o Both Serena Williams and Venus Williams lost a round earlier in the round of 16
• Maria Sharapova will make her seeding
o Maria Sharapova made it all the way back to the final where she lost to Petra Kvitova
• There will be one more American than Brit in the second week
o There were actually three Americans, Mardy Fish, Serena Williams and Venus Williams, and one Brit, Andy Murray, into the second week
• There will be a first-time champion
o There were two first-time champions, Petra Kvitova and Novak Djokovic
