Rafael Nadal's Post-Match English Insights

Rafael Nadal

It is so refreshing to hear Rafael Nadal’s post-match comments nowadays because his English has improved so much the past couple years.  In men’s tennis, we’re lucky that multi-lingual champions such as Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have provided interesting

and at times entertaining comments over the years.  Now, Rafael Nadal has definitely joined them and ironically, he is about to release a book, “Rafa”, where he sheds even more light on his life and likes.

Now that Nadal’s English comes more easily, it allows tennis fans to get a deeper understanding of how he views his matches, performances and opponents.  Rafa often still says his English “isn’t very good”, but even if his vocabulary is not perfect yet, one still understands what he’s trying to express.  What becomes very clear when listening to Rafa is the honesty he reveals regarding his form and his state of mind, especially his confidence level, or lack thereof…
