three-time Grand Slam champion, Maria Sharapova is the highest paid female athlete in the world according to Forbes magazine. Sharapova may have struggled with injuries and poor play/serving the past few years, but she's still raking in the big bucks off the court. Sharapova earned $25 million through July 1, 2011, which is twice the amount earned by another female athlete. Online, Sharapova has 6 million Facebook fans.

• Danica Patrick (race car driver) - $12 million
• Venus Williams - $11.5 million
• Kim Clijsters - $11 million

• Li Na - $8 million (she had earned $2.5 million a year before winning the French Open, but her endorsements, which include Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Haagen-Dazs and Rolex, will likely increase given her results and increased fame in 2011)
• Ana Ivanovic - $6 million - she has a lucrative lifetime deal with adidas
