Novak Djokovic Earned Record Prize Money in 2011

Anyone who follows tennis knows that Novak Djokovic had a career(changing) year in 2011. Djokovic had an incredible winning streak through the spring, won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open titles, as well as ascended to the Number One ranking for the
first time. In total, Djokovic collected ten titles this. With all of his victories, Djokovic earned $12.6 million in on-court prize money.
For comparison, in 2011, Djokovic surpassed both Roger Federer, who earned $10.1 million in 2007, and Rafael Nadal, who collected $10.1 million in 2010, with his stellar year and record prize money total. Djokovic, with $32.9 in career winnings, also moved into fourth place on the all-time career prize money list, moving ahead of Andre Agassi. Federer tops the list with $67.4 million in career earnings, while Nadal is second with $45 million ahead of Pete Sampras. Given the increases in prize money and the longer playing careers, one expects these records to be challenged in the future.
