Tennis Country 2012 London Olympic Tennis: Fashion Review

2012 London Olympic tennis fashion review

In between raindrops over the past few days, the players have been the hitting the green grass tennis courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club… wearing COLORED tennis attire!  Therefore, it’s clearly time for the Tennis Country 2012 London Olympic

Tennis Fashion Review!

Starting with the men… someone said that hometown fav, Andy Murray’s flag wristbands might be the best buy and we might have to agree, but frankly we’re finding a lot of the tennis attire rather inspiring.  adidas has outfitted its men in the colors of their respective countries, e.g. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is wearing royal blue with a tiny French flag on the chest along with the words France above the Olympic rings on the other side of his chest while Andy Murray is wearing either a dark navy ensemble with the shirt in the design of the British/Scottish flag or a white shirt with the flag design and navy shorts.  In addition to the small adidas logo on the chest, Murray’s shirt has team GB, London 2012 and the Olympic rings on the other side of his chest in tiny lettering.  Meanwhile, Nike has given Roger Federer a red Swiss-colored shirt with the tiny Swiss flag emblazoned on one side of his chest and the Nike logo on the other side to wear with white shorts. Novak Djokovic, who is wearing his new Uniqlo outfits, has alternated between navy, white and royal blue shirts and shorts, but all of them also have a  small Uniqlo logo on one side of his chest and a small Serbian flag on the other side.  Lacoste gave Americans Andy Roddick and John Isner, royal blue shirts with tiny American flag-colored crocodile logos.  Janko Tipsarevic was decked out in a bright red Fila shirt with the Fila logo on one side of his chest and the small Serbian flag icon on the other side.

The women are also sporting a lot of tiny flags on their chests, e.g. Nike women Maria Sharapova in her red tank top and white skirt, Serena Williams in her blue top or white top, both featuring tiny American flags on the chest, and 2011 Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova, wearing a royal blue top with a tiny Czech flag and Victoria Azarenka wearing a red top and green skirt in the colors of Belarus.  Venus Williams is wearing her EleVen designed navy dress with red and white piping and gold V logo along with her red, white and blue braids!  Kim Clijsters, playing in her second to last tournament, is actually wearing adidas rather than her Fila outfits because adidas is sponsoring the Belgian Olympic team.  Caroline Wozniacki in Stella McCartney for adidas is wearing a red dress with a tiny Danish flag as well.

All in all, there are a lot of colorful outfits featuring flag logos and/or iconography and we love ‘em!
