The Championships, Wimbledon 2012 - Ladies Semifinals Preview

On Thursday at The All England Club, The Championships, Wimbledon Ladies semifinals will take place… rain or shine, given the Centre Court roof. The draw is slightly lopsided as Serena Williams faces Victoria Azarenka in one semi while Agnieszka Radwanska plays
Angelique Kerber in the second semi. Clearly, there is a lot at stake for all of the players and the match-ups are intriguing.
Serena Williams leads her head-to-head rivalry with Victoria Azarenka 7-1 and won their only Wimbledon match in straight sets back in 2009. Nonetheless, this is a slightly different Azarenka, who has now won a Grand Slam title at the 2012 Australian Open and held the Number One ranking for part of this year. The winner of this semi will definitely be the favorite in the final, which adds even more pressure to the shoulders of both Serena and Victoria. Radwanska, the third seed, who has a chance to become Number One for the first time at the end of the tournament, is 2-2 in head-to-head matches with Kerber, the eighth seed, but they have never played on grass. Their last three matches have all gone three tight sets.
Predictions: Serena Williams and Radwanska will reach the final.
