The Championships, Wimbledon 2012 - Gentlemen's Semifinals Preview

The consistency at the very top of men’s tennis continues at The Championships Wimbledon 2012 with three of the top four men, i.e. Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and “hometown favorite”, Andy Murray, reaching the semis. The exception is that Rafael Nadal was
shocked in the second round and missed his semifinal date this year. Nonetheless, Rafa’s “replacement”, i.e. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, brings enough experience as a former Australian Open finalist, as well flare, finesse and firepower to challenge anyone including Andy Murray on his home court.
Both semifinals will hinge on execution and who handles “the moment” better because there is so much at stake for all the players. Perhaps Djokovic has the least pressure because he has said the Olympics is his primary goal, but regardless, he still would definitely relish a second straight Wimbledon title. Federer, who wants a seventh Wimbledon title to tie Pete Sampras and a chance to be Number One again, holds a 14-12 advantage over Djokovic in head-to-head matches, but they have never played at Wimbledon or on grass courts. Djokovic has won six of their last seven matches spanning 2011 and 2012, but Friday will be a new day… In the other semi, Murray holds a 5-1 head-to-head advantage over Tsonga including a victory at Wimbledon in 2010 and at Queen’s Club last year.
Predictions: Federer will face Andy Murray in the final…
